You are invited to participate in a community celebration of The Thanksgiving Address of the Six Nations (Haudenosaunee or Iroquois), which has been in use for more than a thousand years at the beginning of all ceremonial and governmental gatherings of the Mohawk, Oneida, Cayuga, Onondaga, Seneca, Tuscarora peoples of Upstate New York and Canada. There will be a reading of all seventeen greetings and possibly two chants at 10 am-12 noon on Friday, November 25th in Sunshine Meadow at the Botanical Gardens of Asheville, followed by a potluck in the Gazebo. Family and friends are welcome at this handicapped accessible event. Donations will be collected for the Gardens.
